Casey McEwan

Casey has been learning classical organ since 2022, where he began studies with Ashleigh Tobin (OAM) at Scots Uniting Church Adelaide. For almost 10 years, Casey has been studying classical and contemporary piano privately and only recently decided to study the organ, satisfying a long fascination for the instrument he has had since childhood.
Coming from a non-religious background, Casey’s first introduction to the pipe organ was through cinema and a fascination with St Peter's Cathedral in Adelaide. In 2022, through connections with the Organ Music Society of Adelaide, Casey began lessons with Ashleigh Tobin, resident Organist at the time at Scots Church Adelaide. Casey was soon offered the position of Organ Scholar at Scots Church where he would serve from 2022 to mid-2023 before moving to become Organ Scholar at Payneham Road Uniting Church. Midway through his studies at Payneham, Casey began studying under Peter Kelsall, who he continues to study with today.
Casey completed two years of Organ Scholarship at Payneham Road Uniting Church until only recently accepting a position as an Organ Scholar at Pilgrim Uniting Church.
Casey has since regularly performed around Adelaide, both in solo concert and with orchestras and ensembles, such as the Elder Conservatorium of Adelaide Wind Orchestra, and the Don Dunstan Foundation when hosting an event for the Prime Minister. Casey currently plays regularly for Sunday mornings at Scots Uniting Church Adelaide.
